Internet Archive

I'm sure most people are familiar with the Internet Archive but i'd like to highlight a couple of areas.

The Live Music Archive includes thousands of recordings available for download, it's probably most well known for the Greatful Dead live shows but also includes good live music from Mogwai, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Bardo Pond, Acid Mothers Temple and Explosions In The Sky.

The Prelinger Archives is a database that includes 48,000 "ephemeral" films (advertising, educational, industrial, and amateur) available to download and are considered public domain.

Les Rallizes Denudes - Live 77

'The 70's Japanese guitar psych holy grail known as "Live '77" is
an echoing, droning, heavy psych jam that will destroy your mind.
Disc one starts off exploring Les Rallizes mellow side, all sensitive and lovely, with "Enter The Mirror", but then soon explodes into sheer amplified overload, with throbbing mantric rhythms and a rough, raw live sound, but really all the fuzz and distortion and grit sounds just right. There's four long tracks on disc one, three long tracks on disc two. By the time the epic 20+ minute "The Last One" on disc two marches into white noise oblivion, you -- and maybe your speakers -- will be fried.' - aquarius records

The Conet Project

Shortwave radio “Numbers Stations” have been used by inteligence agencies to transmit secret messages for over 30 years.

These mysterious stations transmit in many different languages, using male and female voices repeating numbers or code words 24 hours a day.

Little information is known about the origins of these messages.

The Irdial Label released a 4CD set that contains over 150 recordings that span the last 20 years; taken from the private archives of dedicated shortwave radio listeners from around the world. The label has made these recording available for download.

If I find a film dull, I find it infinitely more entertaining to watch the scratches.

Chris Mars

Artist statement;
The imagery that is my work stems from the very strong visual and emotional impact of growing up in a family marked by mental illness. My eldest brother "Bill" suffers from schizophrenia. Bill experienced his first pronounced episode at age 16, and was immediately institutionalized. The seemingly medieval hospital visuals etched into my consciousness, along with the trauma of my brother being repeatedly taken from us. The sights, sounds and smells I experienced as a small child visiting him there are prevalent throughout my work

"El Topo" & "Holy Mountain" are finally supposed to be released on DVD in the US. These mystical, esoteric films will no longer have to be viewed on bootleg or European DVDs.

Until recently, Allen Klein (former manager of the Beatles & Rolling Stones) retained the legal rights, which he allegedly refused to sell or otherwise license for distribution.

No release date has been set, visit these links for more info;

EBN were a multimedia performance group that remixed video in brilliant ways. They released a video in 1991 and now 15 years later, it's still one of the best examples of audio/video collage.

Founding member Joshua L. Pearson has posted some EBN videos on his website, including some unreleased footage.
